The Wells Academy

Careers

The Wells Academy has a full programme of careers, aspirations and employability activities for students in all year groups, all designed to ensure that your child leaves The Wells Academy with the skills required to be successful in their further educational journey and the working world beyond.

1-to-1 Careers Interviews
Every Year 11 student has access to individual meetings with our Careers Lead. Each student will have a personalised discussion around the topics of careers, employability skills and thinking about next steps. These meetings will be used to support students in securing places for their Post-16 education and providing information on their educational journey beyond their time at The Wells Academy.

Careers Fairs

Students across all year groups will have access to a Careers Fair, where representatives from colleges, sixth forms, apprenticeships and local businesses and industries will be in school, ready to inform students about their future options, in the hopes of inspiring and engaging them to think about what their futures may hold.

Careers in the Curriculum

Throughout the year, a series of workshops, focused lessons and curriculum-linked activities will take place, showcasing how each of the subjects on off
er at The Wells Academy can lead to exciting career opportunities.

Year 10 Future Skills Days

Year 10 students will have access to drop-down days where they will learn about CV Writing and Employability Skills, followed by a Mock Interview process and opportunities to gain insight into different workplaces.

Unifrog

The Unifrog platform is designed to support students in making informed decisions about their futures. Students can complete quizzes, watch webinars and complete online courses. They can also search colleges, 6th forms, university and apprenticeship opportunities, part time jobs and much more. Each student has their own personal account and login.
